In prehistoric times, algae provided the building blocks for fossil fuels. This ancient fuel is part of the answer to today’s challenges with escalating fuel costs with a renewable source for fuels.

Aquatic Energy’s algal fuel circumvents the fossils and drilling — proceeding from the pond to the pump, with a stop at the refinery.

Our proprietary strains of algae and development methods optimize sunlight, carbon dioxide and nutrients to yield high-quantities of algae, packed with long-chain hydrocarbons (lipids). After these lipids are extracted, the unique characteristics of our algal oil and meal make them compatible with fuels, including renewable diesel, biodiesel, biojet and algae-based ethanol.

We are promoting the use of our algal oil as a "drop-in" feedstock, which fits into the existing energy infrastructure, including biodiesel and petroleum refineries. This fuel is compatible with the current distribution channels and infrastructure without retrofitting or redesign.

Because of the robust nature of our strains, their strong yields, the efficiency of our methods, and the advantageous proximity of our southwestern Louisiana production facility, our algal oil and meal are extremely cost-effective.
